Hello all! It is early Monday, and I'm up doing things like editing my manuscript for a novel I'm working on. Then it hit me. Today is Martin Luther King day! When I visited the gravesite of He and wive Correta Scott King, It was a tremendously humbling experience. The peace and tranquil feeling in that area was unbelievable. The Tomb where they both are laid to rest set's out into the middle of a waterfall. It is beautiful. Today for some reason, MLK day means more to me than it has in recent years. Maybe because I've noticed that Racism has risen its ugly head up like never before; and most of the freedoms we've achieved over these last forty some odd years are being reneged upon, or being altered.
#SadMomentWhen; Dr. King was killed. I was 10 and a half years old; and aside from losing my Mother at age 6 in 1962, JFK murdered a year later in 1963, then Malcolm in 1965, a terrible riot ruins Detroit in 1967. Then not even an entire year later in 1968, both Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, & Bobby Kennedy were gone, mere months apart from one another. Even as a child I sensed that all the world had become a lot sadder place for many people who believed in liberty and justice for all. In a lot of ways, America became a whole lot less than that great place we all sung about, and placed our hands across our hearts as we recited the Pledge of Allegiance every morning in grade school.
RIP Dr. King! May your Dream of peace and harmony be a solid reality one day. Lord know we've made steps here in this great land. We have an African American President (who is constantly disrespected and heranged almost daily), electric and gas powered cars that park themselves, Movie theaters in our homes, yet and still, right in our neighborhoods, people are hungry, losing their homes, jobs and faith that America can be more than what it has become. In all the changes and wars, and trends and fads and technological advances we've made over these 4 decades, what have we learned? Again I say, What have we learned?

Saturday Love and Rest
It is a day of Rest and Relaxation! I've waited for Saturday to get here since Monday. Isn't that a shame?
Well last night, we made Mexican food for our neighbors across the street, and it was good! Fajitas, Quesadillas, and Burritos. The neighbors bought the Mexican rice and the Guacamole. Nothing like eating mexican food, and listening to the Blues on Smooth Grooves on Cable! LOL! We just couldn't turn it off!
If you want the recipe to my hot Fajitas, let me know, and I'll post it later this afternoon! Gotta run. See ya late on!

Spoiled Her Again!
I got her again today! Made Wifey a southern dinner with a twist. Shrimp scampi with rice. Salmon patties with a nice seafood salad. Topped off with a Cranberry twist drink, so sweet it tingled! Monday was a decent day indeed! Tuesday is going to be busy in that I have to do some other studies and play with my new toy; a performance Keyboard that allows me to sample and play with sound and tempo, the works. I feel like a Hip Hop producer with this thing! LOL!
Coming up real soon, my experiment in making a really good southern Peach Cobbler. If you have any ideas or suggestions, feel free to offer them. I need all the help I can get wihen baking anything. Thank to my friend, Katie Stubbs! She's a wonderful lady who is so skilled at making great desserts, its scary. All these recipes are subject to end up in The Home Husband II; as well as your input (props included), if you so choose! Anyway, just posting and checking in. Cranking down a long day by playing on FB and Twitter, and Updating my Blog. Gotta go... Love ya'll!

Sunday was Great Monday will be even Better!
Well Sunday wasn't as bad as Saturday with the cold and flu symptoms. That Chicken and Rice dish did the trick. Of course a little tender lovin' care as well didn't hurt! Its early Monday morning/late Sunday night and I'm just now starting to relax.
I'm hoping Monday will be just as good as Sunday was. Lot of things on my plate today. Lot of writing! Lot of Promoting of The Home Husband Companion. So here's wishing you a great Monday as well! Don't forget; join my Blog so that you'll get some of my tried and true recipes. I don't post'em if I've never tried'em or made'em! And that's a fact! Love ya'll!

Sniff, Cough and Kleneex
Doggone Cold! Hi Ya'll. Well me and Wifey are down with a bug. Some sort of flu-like thing that knocked us down, and fast! So I make some Garlic rich, Chicken and Rice and Carrots for us! I spoiled Wifey with some Vernors Ginger Ale, and homemade cornbread! She is now sleeping like a baby. No coughing right now! How did I make my kicked up Chicken and Rice for two?
For my Chicken and Rice, I used:
1. 8 Chicken Legs and 2 Thighs
2. 7 Crushed Cloves of Garlic
3. 1 Bay Leaf
4. 1 half tea spoon of Basil
5. 1 and a half cups of Baby Carrots
6. Table Spoon of Adobo Seasoning
7. Salt to taste
8. Pepper to taste
9. Table Spoon of Olive Oil
10. Tea Spoon of Butter
Boil Chicken and Baby Carrots in a quart and a half of water until well done. Boil time, 45 mins at medium heat. When Chicken is to the point of falling off the bone, folk chicken off the bone into a bowl. Disgard bones. Add chicken back into the broth along with a cup and a half of rice. Two cups if you like you dish to be thicker.
Boil at medium heat for ten minutes and then turn the burner down to a low simmer. The rice will become puffy and fill out the dish in about 20 mins time. Serve with Cornbread! Enjoy!

Its early Saturday morning, and I between making a BBQ Rub, Facebook and Twitter. Even with the long day, Coffee has a tendency to keep me awake, so I'm busy beeing about the house planning a Rib Smoking session!
I'm planning a Peach honey sweet sauce with grilled red onions and Chicken Quarters. Right now its just the Rub. Later today I'll work on the sauce. Its very Memphis old school with a Polynesian twist!
I'll keep you posted!

Friday Dinner and some Old School Wisdom
Ah, cool down time. Busy morning and afternoon. Wifey said she'll make dinner tonight. Fried Chicken, French Fries and Salad. Can't beat wifey's cooking! Normally, I'll spoil her and make dinner like a good Home Husband should, but today she felt like rattling the pots and pans, so who am I to stand in the way of perfection?
Got a message from an old work buddy who texted me yesterday (didn't recognize the number), and again this morning. They'd been trying hard to get in touch with me. For me, old haunts and bad memories (about that particular place I once worked, not that person). In the message this person said they finally (and wrongfully) lost their job at this place. With some businesses, underhanded dealings never change. Most employers really don't know (nor do they care) that when you do people badly, Karma is full effect!
I just read the message and wished this person God's speed for the future. My advice to anyone fighting a losing battle at a job where you're the odd man out is to simply, get out! Do your best, give your all, and always do a job well done. If this is not enough then it is time to move on and let God take care of the rest! Try starting your own business and make a good go of it. As I said, Karma is in full effect!
You are worth more than the devaluing, degrading, degradating treatment some places of business employ upon its workers. God wants you with a sound mind and a peaceful heart. I'm learning this more and more each day! So I say to you all, God's Speed!

Well its Friday everyone! I feel better about Friday today because I had one hell of a day Wednesday and Thursday. The writing is coming along, and I am finally preparing for going back to school! Something
I've wanted to do since I was in my twenties. Sometimes, life gets in the way!
Thinking about getting a tablet device. I love the iPad, yet the Kindle Fire is just the right size for me. Its not too big, and fits in a handy bag if needed. Plus I hear its got Flash on it it! I plan of downloading a lot of study material on it. Maybe you'l like it a Kindle Fire to download some books as well!
Hopefully The Home Husband Companion is among your choices!
I'll check in later. Its late here. Fighting this cold is making me tired. Don't for get, if you wanna buy the Home Husband Companion, its available in paperback and as an e-book on Amazon.com. Just click on the cover of the book on this page.
Oh well, I'm sneezing too much to continue typing. See you later! Do something fun, Its Friday!

Hello, its been a while. Its the New Year, Jan 3rd 2012 already. I've been off for a bit taking some me time away from the task of promoting my book. I've also been writing and starting the remaking of myself into being a more healthier/productive Glenn. I've been posting some of my writing on a friend of mine's on line magazine called TPEpost.com. Tipping Point Education. Her name is Trish Brown, and she has been a real big help in getting me motivated to write and put my writing out there for others to see.
I am previewing an article I am thinking of about submitting about Emergency Medical Technicians, and how they are over looked. I'm still editing the piece, so I should have it up on TPEpost.com maybe before the day is out, or Wednesday at the latest.
So here's hoping that whoever reads this has a wonderful New Year this 2012.
